Missing our friend Annie...

Ann Elizabeth Latty died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Salem at the age of 37. She was born November 28, 1970 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Guy and Janet (Henderson) Wood. Annie grew up in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania and graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1989. She joined the United States Coast Guard which took her to San Pedro, California and then to Petaluma, California where she attended and graduated from Yeoman school. She was then was transferred to Sandy Hook, New Jersey. While stationed at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, she met and married her husband, Shon on December 7, 1991 in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. They were then transferred to Hawaii. While in Hawaii, her daughter Samantha was born.

Annie was honorably discharged in 1995 and moved to Reedsport, Oregon in 1996. In 2001 while in Reedsport, her son Jonathan was born. In 2006, she moved to Dallas, Oregon.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother, choosing to home school her children. She also enjoyed being a puppeteer, translating and teaching American Sign Language, computers, arts and crafts, quilting, and church activities. She was an active member of Dallas Evangelical Bible Church, teaching Awana’s, children’s church and American Sign Language, and singing with the Women of Praise.


All of us who had the privilege of knowing Annie are blessed. We miss her, but know she is in better hands now.

Childcare is provided for birth to 5 years old by our happy workers and they look forward to attending to your children so you can have a break. Learn and laugh with other moms with young kids.

Returning moms: the meeting cost is $2. If you are new to MOPS, worried about what to expect, please come and let us welcome you -- your first meeting is free! A one-time fee of $23.95 pays for the MOPs International membership and includes a subscription to MOMsense magazine, weekly emails, and a book.

MOPS is the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, from September to May.
