The MOPS library is available at each meeting (December 9th). Each mom is encouraged to check out titles to help them be the best mom she can be. We recently added 3 new books for your enjoyment. We're all busy, yet we hope these books are worth your time.
The first title is Walking with the Women of the Bible. Elizabeth George, author of A Woman After God’s Own Heart, invites women to get to know the women of the Bible. Readers will be intrigued and inspired as they become friends with Eve, Deborah, Rachel, Leah, Naomi, Mary, and many more. The devotions highlight how God reached out to these women and changed their lives. Readers will discover that He will also help them successfully handle their own situations and grow in areas that include:- devotion and service (Ruth and Naomi)
- courage and honor (Esther)
- motherhood and creativity (Jochebed)
- wisdom and leadership (Deborah)
- sacrifice and faithfulness (Hannah)
- Walking with the Women of the Bible encourages women to cultivate a deep, intimate relationship with God and turn to Him for strength, comfort, and help.
Gary Chapman's, The Family You've Always Wanted: Many feel bombarded by images and experiences of broken families. This is not how God intended families to be! So often we examine the traits of unhealthy families, but Gary Chapman paints a biblical portrait of what a loving, stable family looks like. This book is not just to be read, but experienced. Chapman details five timeless characteristics that create a healthy family environment:- An attitude of service.
- Intimacy between husband and wife.
- Parents who teach and train.
- Children who obey and honor parents.
- Husbands who are loving leaders.
In Dr. Chapman’s own words, “What happens to your family does make a difference not only to you and your children, but to the thousands of young observers who are in search of a functional family.”
A Marriage Without Regrets: “This book isn’t about how to have a perfect marriage, or to change our spouses,” says Kay. “It’s about having the kind of marriage where you can stand before God and say, ‘Lord, I was all that You intended me to be.’ Only when we make that kind of commitment can we truly have a marriage without regrets!”Speaking candidly about her first marriage, her conversion to Christianity, and her longtime marriage to Jack, Kay offers practical advice on effective communication, security and significance, difficult relationships, parenting, and God’s guidelines for divorce and remarriage.
Readers will discover what the Bible says about...
- resolving conflict
- understanding each partner’s role
- improving the sexual relationship
- becoming financially wise
- respecting and keeping marriage vows
